If you are, or were ever, a church-going woman, then there is a high likelihood that you have experienced some form of male chauvinism or sexism in the church. Some churches are not nearly as sexist and chauvinistic as others, but many churches have some degree of it. God is not a chauvinist, He is not a sexist, and he is very fair in his treatment of women. If you've been the victim of male chauvinism in society or male chauvinism in the church, or if you know someone who has, this book was written just for you. This book will not only help you to see that God thinks no more of men than he does of women, but this book will also help you to help other women who have lost their faith because they think that God is unfair to women.
I've traveled around the country speaking at book signing events in order to promote my books. Usually I'll be given a table at Barnes and Noble or Borders and I'll casually invite people to the table as they pass by. I have a big 18 by 24 poster of the front cover of this book that I often times prop up on the table. The title of this book draws attention, to say the least! Many of the people who are drawn to the table are women atheists. They initially come to the table to speak with me because their first impression is that the book is trashing the Bible. But that's not the case at all. So when they get to the table and realize that what the book is really doing is defending the Bible, some of them become angry... but it gives me a chance to witness to many atheists that I would not otherwise be able to talk to.
By the way, if you are an atheist yourself, please pick up a copy of the book and take a look at what the Bible really teaches about women. No doubt you've heard false teachings that say that the Bible teaches that women cannot preach, cannot become deacons, cannot pastor, cannot speak in the church, cannot teach, shouldn't be single, must submit to their husbands no matter what, won't hear from God before her husband does, and the list goes on. But when taking into account the who, what, when, and why of it all, these teachings are in error. In expresing my viewpoints in the book, I do not add or take away from scripture...what I do is point out certain things in scripture that many male preachers suspicioiusly never teach about or bring up. I've discovered that women atheists are drawn to the table because one of the biggest arguments that they have against God is their perception that he is not fair to women, They believe God is a chauvinist. I didn't know about this argument before I wrote the book but I sure do know it now! So, if you are a Christian, this book will be very helpful to you if you ever find yourself witnessing to a woman who's an atheist because much of her argument against God will be her misperception of how she thinks God mistreats women and there are many books out there that support feminist atheism. The book also draws male atheists to the table. The men are more prone to discuss the issue. The women are less likely to and are more likely to walk away angry. But that's okay because the Bible says that God's word never returns void.
